Christmas 2009

Well we survived Christmas!!! Grandma and Grandpa Gerth came out to California to stay with us for 2 weeks over the holiday and the girls LOVED having them here!!! They arrived the day before Grandma's birthday so we were able to celebrate with her. Unfortunately Grandpa came with a cold and shared it with all of us the entire time of their stay. Grandma got it the worst but we were all still able to enjoy each others company. Christmas was a huge success for the girls. They received SO MANY toys that I could open my own toy store, HaHa. Christmas eve the girls got to open 1 present (a tradition carried from my childhood) which was their Christmas pj's. Erin got a little upset because she wanted to open more even though there were no other presents for her under the tree. Before bed she left cookies for Santa and had to make sure we didn't forget to leave him a napkin. In the morning Erin woke up to an empty plate with a thank you note from Santa. She was SO excited but then said "Santa made a mess!"

Payton did well opening presents in the beginning. She tore the paper and tried to eat each and every piece. After getting a few opened she stopped at the xylophone and wanted nothing to do with the rest of her gifts. We spent the rest of the day cooking a huge turkey and entertaining more family/friends. Dinner was great, we all had a nice visit.

The next day we went to KC's sisters house for Chrismtas with the McColms/Lopez's. Erin and Payton had a blast playing with their cousins'! They received even MORE presents and then we had a Christmas decoration exchange. This too was a real nice evening.

One of the presents I received was an Indianapolis Colts snuggie. I'm not sure who likes it more, me or Payton. Everytime she is near the snuggie she rests her head on it. SO CUTE! Overall we had a very nice Holiday!

holiday time!!!

Tis the season to be broke!!! HaHa. Erin is REALLY excited for Santa and LOVES her Christmas tree. She's actually been asking for it all year long. I don't think i've ever gotten a tree before December but we just couldn't resist this year. After KC and I strung the lights we let Erin hang the very first ornament. Our family ornament. She was so proud of herself! Payton was mesmorized by the pretty lights and the feel of the tree. At one time she even tried pulling herself up using the branches. AHHH!!! Stay tuned for more pictures of our decorated tree (and the girls).
