Erin's 3rd Christmas!!!

Erin and us had a wonderful Christmas this year! She had a blast decorating the tree and listening to Christmas music and then there were all of the celebrations. The only downside was that we didn't get to spend it with my family in Texas. We didn't go overboard with presents this year (although it looked like we did), we just bought a bunch of little things and wrapped everything individually. Erin had an absolute BLAST opening each present. She had quite the system going. She'd pick a present, open it, put the present in a pile, then throw away the paper. She also had alot of fun playing with her cousins at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

24 week belly pic

Tomorrow I will be 24 weeks pregnant so I thought it would be appropriate to keep track of what I look like for my scrapbook. I look like a HOUSE!!!!! I am as big as I was with Erin at 36 weeks, OMG!!! The weird thing is that I've gained alot less weight this time (so far) than I did with Erin. Shouldn't I be smaller?

Miss Peyton is quite a bit different that Erin was in my tummy. Erin WAS this calm baby that kicked every now and then, never hit my bladder or my ribs. She never woke me up at night, etc. Peyton kicks all day non stop! I love it but am really worried that she's going to come out being some wild child crazy girl! The other day Peyton kicked my bladder so hard that it actually made me jump thinking she was goign to cause me to have an accident (sorry...TMI). I sat back down and she did it again!!!!! Little brat! I wake up multiple times a night to roll over, etc. Peyton thinks that it's time to keep mommy up kicking like crazy! That's the part I don't like, HaHa. I LOVE my sleep and am not ready for it to end BEFORE she gets here. Thankfully (for now) I am able to fall back to sleep within abotu 10 minutes so it's not THAT bad.....yet.

We have been trying to get Erin to feel her sister move, but she just doesn't have the patience to sit around with her hand on my tummy. She'll put her hand there for abotu 10 seconds (if that) and shout "OH...I felt that!!!" No she didn't, Peyton didn't move. Then Erin will say "oh, baby's sleeping!"

Erin also likes to try and feed her sister. I made the mistake of telling Erin to talk through my belly button at her sister. Erin isn't an idiot and instantly knew that if she could talk to her sister that way, her sister should be able to eat that way too! She ran in the room and tried shoving a cookie in my belly button "Baby's hungry mommy!" I just love the little things that kids do!!!

Erin's Halloween 2008

Erin had a blast this Halloween. She finally understands how to trick-or-treat and did an awesome job. Of course we practiced beforehand, but she got it! She had a party at daycare that afternoon so she didn't get her usual nap in. After daycare we took her right over to the mall for their festivities. She received SO MUCH candy from there, we really didn't need to continue on to the houses. Of course we did! We met up with Tony, Stacy, and Aubriana in their neighborhood and spent about 45 minutes outside trick-or-treating. Erin loved knocking on the doors and wouldn't stop knocking until the people opened it. She said "trick-or-treat please" and then "thank you" after she got her candy.
I know trick-or-treating isn't that big of a deal, but it's moments like these that really pull at my heartstrings!!!

Erin finally understands....I think!

Every since we told Erin that she was going to be a big sister she would point to HER belly and say "Erin's baby!". We'd say no, the baby was in mommy's tummy and she would correct us telling us it was in her belly.

This morning she was giving me a hug saying "baby sister". I told her that her baby sister was right here (pointing to my tummy) and she bent down to my belly and said "HI BABY!!!" then gave my tummy a hug and kiss. I think she finally understands!!! YAY!!! I hope they'll be best friends!!!

Got our test results back!!!!!

After anxiously waiting over the last 2 days the dr's FINALLY called me this evening at 6:10pm. Seriously, every time my cell phone would ring I'd jump from being so nervous. It's not surprising that they called after I had concluded that they weren't going to call today either. Well I was wrong!!!

I was helping miss Erin go potty on the toilet when my phone ring and I chose to ignore it. KC tried to answer it but I had forgotten to turn off my headset so he couldn't hear anything. When he handed me the phone I noticed the number was not one I recognized and got nervous. I tried calling back but it went straight to voice mail, I was so bummed. Thankfully they called right back!
The lady instantly said "I have good news for you!" OMG my heart melted (in a good way). That's the best news one can receive!!! She said that everything looked perfect and healthy! YAY!!!!!! There was a pause and I asked KC "do you want me to find out what we're having" The lady laughed when she heard him instantly say "umm, YEAH!" She asked what I thought we were having and I said "I think it's a girl, KC wants a boy!"

After we hung up the phone we went to tell Erin what we are having. We said "you're going to have a baby SISTER!" After repeating us we asked her if she knew what a sister was and she proceeded to put her arms into her armpits and say "ooh ooh ooh" like a monkey! GREAT!!!!! This is what she already thinks of her little sister! Haha

So yeah....we're having another PRINCESS!!!! Poor, KC.....maybe next time!

CVS Testing was yesterday

So yesterday KC and I had to take the day off to have the CVS testing done on the baby to check for any genetic defects. CVS is just like an amnio except that there's not enough amniotic fluid to take so they have to take cells from the placenta. Depending on where the placenta determines how they perform the procedure, abdominally or through the cervix. I got lucky this time and had to go the cervix route (I'm joking.....this was worse)!!! Poor KC had nail marks embedded in his hand because I was holding it so tight. Anyway, now I have to lay around w/almost no activity until tomorrow. I can't pick Erin up (or anything over 10 pounds) and have to limit exercise for the next few days. So far I'm feeling ok, pretty sore but the major cramping has gone away. Sleeping yesterday really helped! We should find out the results in about 8-10 calendar days.
Please keep your fingers crossed that everything turns out ok!

Since they do the procedure using an ultrasound, I got more pictures of our little bean!!! YAY! As of now, I'm about 12 weeks along. One more week until I'm in my 2nd trimester and (hopefully) this exhaustion goes away!

Had a mommy/daughter day on Friday

Last Friday Erin and I spent the day together. Since daycare was closed I took the day off work and we went to the Scrapbook Expo (more fun for mommy than Erin). Erin was REALLY good the whole day, we shopped at lunch, and visited with a friend. Erin had a couple restless moments but calmed down almost instantly. I told her that on the way home we could get some ice cream and she said "no mama, ice cream cake!" We stopped to visit Aunt Jenifer and then headed off for our ice cream cake. We then came home and took a very late nap waking up at 7pm. HaHa.

While I had a wonderful day with Erin, it made me feel very sad. I don't have very much time left before these one on one moments will become few and far between. Once the baby comes, Erin won't have our complete attention and it's very disheartening. I know that KC and I will make time for them individually as well as together, but it won't be easy. It's just a firm reminder that I have to cherish these moments everyday!!!

We're Preganant!

That's right! Erin's going to be a big sister right around her 3rd birthday (hopefully not ON her birthday)! We are due February 26th, 2009. All three of us are very excited, Erin says that the baby is "Erin's baby!" HaHa. Last Wednesday we had our first ultrasound at about 10 weeks. The dr said that things are looking great so far and that my risk of miscarriage has dropped. The baby was really active, punching and kicking like crazy. It's only about an inch long right now so I can't feel any of it yet. We will find out sometime next month if Erin has a brother or sister.
