Fun time at the splash park and fair

KC and I took Erin and Payton to the county fair on July 5th. It was such a nice day, not too hot and really enjoyable! Payton lasted a little bit longer than anticipated in her stroller....about 10 mintues. After that she wanted the carrier the entire time! I swear this kid refuses to sleep when we're anywhere but home! Overall it was a really nice family day.

During the hot days I like to take Erin across the street to the splash park. There are 3 spouts that randomly shoot up water at different heights. Erin has so much fun running around and through all the water. Every time the water hit her she would run up to me smiling and yell "hey mommy, it got me wet!" She would then run right back over to the water. I finally told her to stick her head in the water. The second she did the water shot right up into her nose! HaHaHa, she didn't think it was that funny, but kept on playing and "splashing".

VCB Company Picnic

On July12th my company had their annual picnic. KC was in New Orleans so my mom went with me and the girls. Erin had an absolute blast! They had all sorts of games for her to play, she even won the ring toss game. While there she met another little boy her age, JJ. As you can see, they liked each other! They walked around the picnic arm in arm with big smiles on their faces. Uh Oh!!!!

Milestones and stuff

This week Miss Payton reached a new milestone!!! She is now able to sit up unassisted. She's not quite a "pro" at it yet, but just look at her, when she has a toy to focus on she can sit up for quite a while. That toy she is playing with is one of her favorites. It was actually one of Erin's favorites at that age as well. I just can't get over how a cheap $2 Walmart toy is ALOT more entertaining than the pricey $40 toys I waste my money on.

Payton has also decided that she is no longer a back sleeper (shh....don't tell her pediatrician). So now, not only does she like to stress me out by covering her face with her blanket, she likes sleeping on her stomach! AHHH, I think she WANTS to give me a heart attack, HaHa.

I just had to share this last picture of KC and Payton because the photographer was actually Miss Erin! She LOVES taking pictures with grandma's camera and usually does a pretty good job, don't you think?

Happy 4th of July!

Today was kind of a lazy day for us. We relaxed around the house (KC even let me take a 2 hour nap while he watched Payton) and ran some errands. We had a weird experience at the store....I was joking with Erin and said "you're crazy!" when the weird ("crazy") guy in front of me turned around and shouted at me "NO YOU'RE CRAZY!" and stormed off! HaHaHa.....OK! I was beside myself, watched him smell some women's perfume and then leave the store. Ok....so WHO was the crazy one here??? Anyway, we decided to meet up with Nicole, Jeff, Kaden, and Abigail to watch the fireworks in San Ramon, Sara came with us. We went early to secure a good spot and the kids were able to play for an hour while we waited. Abigail is 5 weeks older than Payton so they got to "hang out" together on the blanket. Erin LOVES Kaden so they had a blast playing at the park until it was too dark to see.

Erin did AWESOME watching the fireworks. This was the first time she wasn't scared! She kept saying "OH MY GOODNESS!" and "WOW, LOOK AT THAT!" When they were done she told us she wanted to watch them again. After fighting traffic on the way home we set off our own fireworks outside. Erin enjoyed the fountains until one of them crackled. She doesn't like the noise. We bought her sparklers but ran out of fire so we'll try those tomorrow after the county fair! Oh yeah.....not too much to report on Payton because she slept through the entire thing. She did startle a few times during the loud ones though.
